A culinary and cultural journey around the Philippines
Islas Pinas by Chef Margarita Forés is a Food and Heritage Village where one can explore and enjoy food from around the country and visit iconic sites like Calle Crisologo and Banawe Rice Terraces, all within one space. For this project, we created the name and identity for Islas Pinas, designed the various signages, menu boards, packaging, tableware and communications.
The patterns were influenced by textiles from the different indigenous tribes of the Philippines as well as the Machuca tiles that filled houses in the early 1900s. The wordmark was crafted with inspiration from vintage Philippine travel posters.
Posters in various locations provide context behind certain landmarks with information available in Tagalog and English.
Order food from one of the many stations and a buzzer will alert you when it’s time to pick up your meal.
The phrases on the food carts in the Tusok-Tusok station stay true to Pinoy humor, utilizing puns and witty remarks.
